But when you think about rental photography, you probably think first of interior shots. While potential visitors need to see the living room and bedrooms, exterior pictures are also important. Because these photos are so important, it’s tempting to get them done right here, right now. But there are a couple of reasons why you may want to wait. First, you want to make sure that both the front and back yard are in perfect shape. Take an objective look around the property. Could the bushes use trimming? Is the grass just a little too long? Get your rental ready for its photo shoot.
Once that’s done, you’ll want to keep an eye on the weather and wait for a bright, sunny day to take the photos. The clear sky will make the outside of your property look more inviting. Even interior photographs will benefit from the sunshine, allowing more natural light to flow through each room.
Show Off Amenities From A Renter’s Perspective
Often in real estate photography, the most important exterior photo is the “hero” shot. This is a picture of the front of the property. But with vacation rentals, showing off outdoor amenities is just as crucial. From the porch swing to the swimming pool to the sundeck, take note of all the outdoor facilities renters could use. Then, be sure to get a photo of each one, emphasizing how much value they add to the visitor experience.
